Style Of The Day: Winter and Summer Looks

OK so because my readers are from all over the world, from the States to South Africa, I though I would have a Winter and Summer look for the Style of The Day...Im doing this because In South Africa and other countries like Aus are in Winter and in the States they are in Summer. I wanted to appeal to people from both seasons!.

Todays Summer Look: Light denim High Waist shorts combined with a flower printed top with gladiator sandals.


Todays Winter Look: Dark denim skinny jeans, with what looks like a partly sheep skin jacket, wollen beanie and leather fringe detail boho style boots. Im in the middle of Winter and this is definitely a look that Im wanting to wear this season!!

I'm officially on holiday for the next 4 weeks or so, Im supposed to be on holiday for 6 weeks but I'm going to start my second semester early to get a early start on all the work that I have ahead of me! The funny thing is that even though I'm on holiday, where I'm supposed to be relaxing, I actually have so much on my plate! At the moment I'm busy writing motivational letters to apply for magazine internships with Cleo and Seventeen. As well as putting together a proposal about an idea that I have, which I will be sending to all magazines that are related to my idea. The idea is something to do with a concept for a great feature for a magazine, thats all I can say about it for now! One of the other many things that I have on my agenda, is planning and brainstorming for the next fashion photo shoot I'm going to style for! This time I'm really wanting to take it to the next level and create a concept that is very different from what I have styled in the past! I feel I need some more variety in my fashion portfolio!

The project that I'm really looking forward to is being part of the City Bowl Mizers music videos, my brother Justin Mcgee is filming the videos and I'm going to be part of the crew. The City Bowl Mizers are a very well known local band here in South Africa. Its going to be fantastic fun and a valuable experience for me, great for my CV.

Lastly, I'm also going to be helping a friend of mine with styling fashion photo shoots for a mock up magazine that she has to create for her fashion school thesis. That reminds me, I need to get hold of her to start getting the ball rolling on that project of ours!.

As you can see, I'm going to have a very busy holiday but Im defintely not complaining because I love to keep myself proactive and do projects that will build up my skills and personal character!

I will be documenting all my projects so look out for them!!

I must be on my way, Im going to touch up my motivational letters and get them on their way to be reviewed!

STYLE OF THE DAY: Chloe!!!

I absolutely love Chloe's high waisted shorts, what I love the most about them is the way the hem of the shorts have been cut into a pattern. You don't see shorts like that often at all!!. And as for that hat Chloe is wearing, divine!!

How to get the best out a bargain item!: Blue Sneakers

In these very difficult economic times, if you going to do some shopping, do it wisely and think about what you are buying. The best way us fashionistas can shop at the moment is buying items that are reasonably priced, and items that can be used in more than one way. Like for example a pair of shoes that you dont have already have in your wardrobe, a pair of shoes that can be used in the more than one outfit. The blue sneakers that Im using as an example, which are on sale for 15 pounds on the ASOS online store!


HOW TO USE A PAIR OF CASUAL SNEAKERS WISELY


WAY 1 - Wearing a pair of sneakers with a simple summer dress! If the sneakers are red, black or blue like these, its better to wear them with a dress that is plain in colour and very little patterns. Otherwise it will look to much!

WAY 2 - If you have a pair of white shorts or black shorts or beige shorts and a any type of casual shirt such as long sleeve collared linen shirt in a color that is complementary to the shorts and sneakers. Such as the example below..

Finding Bargain items is priority for fashionistas at the moment, obviously due to the financial crash of course! Durban Fashion Week 2009..Whats happening???

Ok there is alot of confusion about the confirmed dates of Durban Fashion Week 2009!! Apparently it is supposed to be held from 25th - 30th June 2009!! Thats is this month, why havent I heard anything about it in the press????...I also read that MTN which has been the main sponsor to the annual event, has officially pulled out!. Im really looking forward to Durban Fashion Week because its like one of the hottest events that happens in Durban , there is always so much vibrant and exciting energy in the city when the event is happening! Last year I was able to do some proper journalling about DFW because I was given the priveledge to be part of the media crew! It was great experience, got to meet loads of amazing people in the fashion indusrty and see all the shows and be able to go back stage! It was definitely a high light of my year!

Last year I did a countdown to DFW but this year, I cant really do that because the dates are not confirmed!! As soon I know the dates I will start the countdown immediately!!!

STYLE FROM MTV MOVIE AWARDS 2009

I always have a good look at what all the female celebs are wearing to functions such as the MTV Movie Awards because they are the girls that are going to be wearing the hottest dresses, due to their very talented stylists. I love to see what they get dressed in and what elements they add to their outfits such as what Louboutins and Jimmy Choos are worn!


Leighton wearing a dramatic bold strap gothic inspired dress! I wouldn't have thought that Leighton would have worn a dress like this but I must say its looks very interesting on her.





Kristen Bell - I really like this dress, its appropriate, fits her well and the best part of is the fru fru skirt, I LOVE IT!



Ashley Tisdale - Has also gone for the subtle hard core but pretty look as well by wearing what seems like a Purpley Grey leather mini dress. I know you typically think that this would look very tacky but its actually doesn't the designer has made it stylish and wearable..I love her heels!
